AROUND THE CLUB
MYC Membership Cards MYC membership cards are available from the club Secretary, Chris Abbott. These can occasionally be of some use when visiting other clubs to show your membership in the Manchester Yacht Club. So, if you are cruising far afield you may want to consider getting one of these for your travels. Please do note that while other clubs may extend you use of their facility, the MYC does not have any reciprocal billing arrangements, and you are expected to pay for any expenses directly to the other club while on site. You can contact Chris Abbott to request a card by emailing him at secretary@manchesteryeachtclub.org
Seminars - Past and Future Be sure to see the write up in the Cruising section of this issue of Trident on the "Cruising to Maine or the Cape & Islands" seminar given at the club in early June. John Kiley, Jim Starkey and Nick White all offer up useful tips on your summer sailing. With the summer cruising season under way we now have a break in our schedule of seminars. However, MYC boats are voyaging ever farther, such as Ranny and Maudy Barton who have returned from a winter Cruise from Maine to Key West and the northern Bahamas, or Paul and Yati McMahon, Howie Hodgson, Jeff Eberle and Sam Byrne who have just raced to Bermuda to the many boats headed to Nantucket, Maine, the Essex River or Provincetown for this season's short cruises. At the end of the summer?s sailing we will have a Seminar on "The Season's Adventures" planned for September 27. So be sure to take some photos wherever you voyage. If you are interested in sharing some of your pictures and stories at the fall event, please contact Rear Commodore Bill Barton at rear-commodore@manchesteryachtclub.org or 781-820-3267. It should be fun!
