Cruising

The Cruising summer began in earnest on June 7th with two events: a very informative morning seminar at the Club on cruising to Buzzard's Bay and the Islands (John Kiley), from Cape Ann to Richmond Island (Jim Starkey), and Casco Bay (Nick White), followed by a fantastic Gam on the far side of Misery Island. Eight sailboats gammed together (seven on one mooring!) and enjoyed a spectacular evening. Kids ventured ashore and some even went swimming!
The first Rendezvous of the season was to Hingham. Just under a dozen boats made their way to Hingham on a beautiful sunny June Saturday. Gathering on "Shearwater" - Jim Starkey and Ann Harrison's new Hinckley - the assembled enjoyed Green Watering Cans, great munchies and lively conversation. Three boys and two dogs ventured to the nearby island.
Sunday brought light rain and the fleet made for Manchester to join the Father's Day Gam put on by the O'Haras. Thank you to all who have helped to make all these events a success!
Friday June 20th was an opportunity to see the Executive Committee in action - behind the grill! Well over 100 members attended this ever popular event which coincided with the summer solstice!

Provincetown Rendezvous
Friday, July 4th
Why not sail away for the 4th of July? Roy and Martha Mayne will gather with those interested in the early evening of the 3rd and set out on the morning of the 4th across Massachusetts Bay. Pick up a mooring at Provincetown and raft with fellow members and Green Watering Cans. Watch the fireworks from the cockpit or ashore.
GAM and JAM
Friday, July 25th
Stargazing Gam and Acoustic Jam. Come to the Club for drinks and dinner (BYOB and something to put on the grill.) Stay to listen and join in the acoustic jam?from classic Stan Hugill sea shanties to Green Day! As the stars come out, we'll see who is best at celestial identification.
