It was a record turnout for the 2008 Memorial Day Picnic! This traditional MYC event has had a modest turnout of about 30 in the past, but Chair Paula Filias and her team of Claire Leggett and Cathleen Moore were determined to change this and encourage more families to attend - and they succeeded!

This year more than 80 attended, with children being greeted by members of the Junior Yacht Club who engaged them in fun activities. The surprises did not stop there and the enthusiastic picnickers were entertained by the College Fund Band which Claire and Tony Leggett generously donated for this event. We are all very grateful for the hard work, creativity and enthusiasm of this committee.

Friday, July 4 - 1700: Independence Day Barbeque. By now, you will have received your invitation in the mail and can see the mouth-watering fare from Tennessee BBQ that will appeal to the whole family. Don't forget to RSVP!

Sunday, July 6 - 1600-1800: Sunday Social. This date marks the start of these popular get-togethers which occur every Sunday during the months of July and August. Nine Yacht Club members have offered to host these informal gatherings with complimentary munchies and soft drinks -plus a "cash" bar (drinks charged to your account.) No reservations required - just stop by and enjoy.
