Junior Yacht Club
Calling all junior members of the yacht club! Mark your calendars for the beginning of the season!!
On Friday, May 16th at 7:00pm to 9:30pm there will be an informal junior yacht club meeting with a thrilling movie to follow! Our feature film will be the original Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl to prepare us for our own exciting adventures at sea this summer! It is a great movie that you probably haven?t seen in a while so come watch it one more time and get to know the other junior members. Light snacks will be served.
Leland Wallace of Symdex, located in Manchester has donated his time and equipment to sponsor the event. Many thanks to Leland from all members of the junior yacht club. (Parents please use your discretion whether your children are age appropriate for this movie as it is rated PG-13.)
Another date to hold for junior fun will be May 26th after the Memorial Day picnic at noon. We hope to have enough juniors to participate in a rowdy capture the flag game and have some plain old fun around Tuck's Point.
Please also mark June 15th as the day to challenge your father on his special day in the Tiller Trophy which starts at 4:00pm right before the Father's Day Gam. More information about the rest of the summer to come in the June newsletter.
We are always looking for more ideas and volunteers to help run events so if you have some time or interest please email holly@hollyfabyan.com. You will be hearing more from the growing Junior Yacht Club Executive committee (headed by Mimi Leggett, Wes Fabyan and Gordon Abbott) who would like more willing and able junior members to join their team. We hope to see you all at our first event on May 16th!
Manchester Sailing Association is looking for summer housing for two instructors: Chris Vetter - Head 420 Coach and Francisco Bellocchio - Head Opti Coach. If you are interested in housing either of these coaches for all or part of the summer, please contact Lisa McNamara at 978-468-4762.
