We hope that you are enjoying the season and will join us for many exciting events happening this July at MYC. The popular Sunday Socials begin this month on Sunday afternoons from 1600 to 1800 and are a relaxing venue to see other members if you are passing through the club. The Junior Yacht Club has a dance on July 18th and this is always a fun time for younger members.
The racing activities are now in full swing and we have two weekends of one design racing and the popular Vaughan Challenge between the junior and senior yacht clubs. The Crocker Race falls on the third Saturday of the month and is always an exciting and fun race for crews and skippers of all abilities. The Tiller Race, between juniors and seniors, in Optimists dinghies has been rescheduled for July 4th and we encourage you to come out and give it a go!
July is a terrific cruising month with long days and fair winds. A cruise to Provincetown is planned for the July 4th weekend and a new stargazing event is scheduled for the end of the month. Ladies sailing starts each Wednesday at 1600 and you should contact Dee Christensen or Louisa Mackintosh for more details.
We are experimenting with the bulletin board space at MYC and have added a new LCD picture screen in the entryway. In addition to pictures, this screen presents announcements about various events and we encourage you to take a peek at it and share your comments with us. If you have pictures that you wish to share with other members, please put them on a disk and send them to our post office box and we'll put them on the screen for you. Twice each month, we are collecting announcements and sending out a new e-mail message to members. If you would like to be included in this e-mailing please send your address to our club administrator; Cindy Conway.
